This training will take your teaching skills to the next level, expanding your working knowledge base.
During this second level (300-hour advanced training), you will be trained in multi-style yoga teaching. The curriculum is designed to help you become a well-rounded and skilled yoga teacher. This advanced 300-hour course builds upon the knowledge and skills gained during a typical foundational 200-hour training. TruYoga is a Yoga Alliance Accredited School offering 200 and 300 hour programs and continuing education hours.
Yogic philosophy is the comprehensive spiritual teachings that surround the practice of yoga. The word yoga is derived from the Sanskrit word Yuj, which means to join or to unite. Sanskrit is the ancient classical language of India. You will deepen your understanding of Sanskrit and how to make it a part of your teaching.
Yoga philosophy teaches you that you can control the way your mind responds to the feelings and thoughts that come up and recognize that your experiences is specific to you as an individual. Having a deeper understanding of yogic text and how to bring it forth in daily life.
Advance study of yogic text and digging deeper into in your perspective of the sutras and how it relates to your practice. Explore a modern approach to these ancient ways and how to apply to in your yoga classes.
Interactive study of major body structures and key movements. Understand how the body moves and how to stay safe in a yoga practice. You will explore how yoga poses pressurize and depressurize specific glands and these subtle compression and decompression can regulate secretions.
Learning how to create simple to complex sequences, theming a class, and understanding the function of peak pose classes. Breaking down krama.
Learn the fundamentals of teaching Yin Yoga. To understand the postures and their variations and modification, you will learn concepts of the various skeletal segments, the different muscle groups and the importance of the pose-specific target areas. Understand how Yin Yoga affects the central nervous system and the parasympathetic nervous.
Power yoga is typically focused on increasing heart rate and burning calories through a full-body workout and is sometimes referred to as gym yoga. A blend of Vinyasa-style poses. At least half of the asanas (postures) in a power yoga class come from Vinyasa yoga sequences, where you link breath to movement. The other half is fundamental movements to increase strength and mobility.
Many of us believe that in order for a workout to be effective that it has to be challenging, intense, and make us sweat. But there is another side of fitness that helps you increase strength, prevent injury, and improve your overall wellness. I’m referring to restorative yoga and recovery-focused poses, which is quite often an overlooked, but quite necessary aspect of fitness that will take your health to the next level. Learn how to effectively create a class that will change how students see this style of yoga.
Learn to deepen your own practice and teach meditation to others in an orderly method. This course teaches you a wide range of meditation techniques for various levels. You will understand the proven effects of meditation on your brain waves and nervous system.

If you feel like you're teaching a little more from your head than from your heart; this module will help you see deeper into yourself and help bring you closer to teach from your true authentic voice.
A trauma-based approach to yoga makes the practice safer and more accessible, addressing the unique needs of trauma survivors.

Learn how to create a kids yoga class that includes poses to increase strength, flexibility, and coordination. Also, how to plan classes that are fun and may include age-appropriate games, animal sounds and creative names for poses.
